ENTRY 23 ALPHA OMEGA

“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.” (Revelation 1:8)

“I am the light and the life of the world. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.” (3 Nephi 9:18)

 “I am Alpha and Omega, Christ the Lord; yea, even I am he, the beginning and the end, the Redeemer of the world.” (Doctrine and Covenants 19:1)

Alpha is the first letter of the Greek Alphabet.

Omega is the last letter of the Greek Alphabet.

In the Beginning, you were with God.

Now you are cut off from God.

In the End, you may return to God.

How do you know when your purpose in life is fulfilled?

You know when you have returned to that God which gave you life.

You are redeemed when you return to that Redeemer and He declares your Redemption.

The start line was departing from the presence of that “Alpha”.

The finish line will be crossed when you return to the presence of that “Omega”.

These things are not speaking of Death.  For “Alpha and Omega” is a God of the Living.

These things are intended to be had in this life.  You are meant to find Him in this life.  He has informed you of this by speaking bluntly and directly.  He has informed you of this by speaking indirectly and by parables.  The play on these alphabetic letters is another way of God trying to remind you to seek Him out.
